Role Overview

The Supervisor, P&C and Automation reports to the Manager, Station & Automation. Responsibilities include supervising technicians, overseeing distribution automation projects, supporting smart grid initiatives, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate departmental performance to meet project goals within budget and timelines.
  • Provide technical support and advice across departments.
  • Review project designs and submissions for quality and compliance.
  • Manage maintenance programs for substations and automated devices.
  • Support smart grid and other innovative projects.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Manage resources, including tools, equipment, and personnel, to optimize work activities.
  • Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, and contractor management.
  • Maintain documentation and manage financial expenses related to projects.
  • Design and review P&C and SCADA systems, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Operate and troubleshoot electrical distribution systems, with experience in communication protocols and system automation.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Post-secondary diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology.
  • Eligible for O.A.C.E.T.T. designation as a Certified Engineering Technologist in Ontario.
  • 7-10 years of experience in an electrical utility environment, with supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD, and industrial communication systems.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
  • Valid G Driver’s License.
