CSS is seeking a Supervisor - Operations for the PM shift in Mississauga. The role oversees multiple warehouse functions, coaching teams, and ensuring safety and efficiency across inbound/outbound activities. Direct reports and process improvements are key responsibilities.

You will supervise receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and related operations, with emphasis on productivity, quality, and timely customer service. Forklift experience and strong teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Forklift Certification preferred.
  • 3 years warehouse and distribution operations experience.
  • 1 year experience leading warehouse associates.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or obtain certification.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control processes.
  • Experience with electrical, construction or mechanical products is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn and use business planning systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employee work assignments to meet inbound and outbound service requirements.
  • Direct achievement of performance objectives related to productivity, quality, service, and safety.
  • Monitor workflow, errors, and related metrics and take corrective action.
  • Ensure procedures are observed, implemented, and enforced.
  • Confirm quality and inspection processes are accurate and costs are controlled.
  • Maintain safe working environment and follow safety regulations.
  • Maintain attendance and performance records.
  • Maintain positive employee relations and morale; recommend actions.
  • Assist in developing and documenting warehouse processes.
  • Establish and monitor performance standards for warehouse functions (pick, pack, ship).
  • Process returned merchandise; manage equipment, assembly, and housekeeping standards.
  • Develop and implement training certification programs for warehouse staff.
  • Union environment experience is preferred.

Job description

As the Supervisor - Operations (PM Shift), you will supervise one or more departments within a warehouse operation including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, wire cutting, light assembly, as well as housekeeping of the warehouse. You will report directly to a Manager or Senior Manager Operations. You will train, coach and council associates, and can have at least 2 or more direct reports. You will comply with operational, audit, safety, and all other company policies. You will focus on meeting customer requirements. You will contribute to the development of processes and procedures.

Shift Timing: 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate employee work assignments to achieve inbound and outbound service requirements
  • Direct achievement of performance objectives related to productivity, quality, service, and safety
  • Monitor workflow, work completed, error rates and related metrics and takes corrective action
  • Ensure procedures are observed, implemented, and enforced
  • Confirm quality and inspection process is accurate and excess costs are eliminated
  • Ensure safe working environment and follows safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate time, attendance, and performance management records
  • Maintain positive employee relations and morale
  • Recommend performance management actions
  • Assist in developing and documenting warehouse processes
  • Establish and monitors performance standards for warehouse functions, including pick, pack, and ship
  • Process returned merchandise
  • Establish and monitors performance standards for equipment, assembly, housekeeping, etc.
  • Develop and implements training certification programs and ensures warehouse employees receive training
  • Priorunion environment experienceis preferred.

Qualifications:

  • High School Degree or Equivalent required
  • Fork Lift Certification preferred
  • 3 years warehouse and distribution operations experience
  • 1 year experience leading warehouse associates
  • Ability to operate a forklift or have the ability to obtain a forklift certification
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control processes
  • Knowledge of electrical, construction or mechanical products
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Basic computer skills

Physical Expectations:

  • Work is physically strenuous and workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds.

  • Employee uses heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, etc.).
