Job description

We are looking for a Supervisor Operations to join our Kingston, Ontario team. This role will lead daily processing operations associated with color production of multiple product lines within the plant. You will manage production employees, perform administrative tasks related to production activities, and maintain and improve performance in safety, quality, service, productivity, inventory accuracy, GMP/housekeeping, yields, cost control, process improvement, and HACCP.

What You’ll do:

1. Manage employee performance through development, training, coaching, and corrective action. Lead, monitor, and support production teams to achieve daily production plans and goals.
2. Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to control them. Enforce safety/GMP and operating procedures and methods.
3. Coordinate maintenance activities with the Production Planner and team members on shift.
4. Drive plant housekeeping to ensure the production facility is maintained as audit-ready at all times. Enforce GMP rules.
5. Assist in creating documents and procedures to achieve operational efficiency and standardization. Make improvements to SOPs and other processes to enhance efficiency.
6. Work closely with the Operations Manager to reduce manufacturing costs, increase production volumes, and identify operational savings.

What You’ll bring:

1. High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of three to five years supervisory experience.
2. Minimum of three to five years of previous manufacturing experience, preferably in chemical manufacturing.
3. Strong PC skills. Previous JD Edwards experience is preferred.
4. Lean manufacturing experience is preferred.
5. Results-driven, self-developer, customer-focused, collaborative, with an entrepreneurial spirit (creativity, leading change, innovation).
