Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa Bay area is seeking a Supervisor of Respiratory Care to lead the Respiratory Care team at St. Josephs Womens and Childrens Hospital. The role focuses on staffing, regulatory compliance, and quality patient care, with on-site days from 7:00AM to 3:00PM.

Occasional weekend work and on-call duties apply. Qualified candidates will hold an RRT with NBRC credential, CPR, ACLS, NRP, and PALS, and have strong clinical and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Requires RRT (Respiratory Therapy License) and NBRC credential for RRT.
• CPR certification required; NRP within 6 months; ACLS within 6 months; PALS (Pediatric)
• Strong leadership and staffing skills; regulatory compliance and process improvement responsibilities.
• Experience in acute care and respiratory care supervision preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports Respiratory Care Manager in supervisory capacity and staff issues.
• Assists with hiring, performance reviews, coaching, and policy reviews.
• Ensures regulatory requirements are met and sets goals for process improvement.
• Acts as role model and oversees multiple departments or campuses with 10+ direct reports.

Responsibilities Include:

• Supports the Respiratory Care Manager in a supervisory capacity, managing team member and patient care issues as well as physician concerns.
• Assists the manager with hiring, performance review, coaching, counseling and termination. Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing, team member competency and policy review.
• Ensures regulatory requirements are met and establishes goals for process improvement.
• Acts as a role model for others
• Reports to a Manager over multiple departments or multiple campuses. Has greater than 10 direct reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Certifications and Licensures

Required:

• RRT (Respiratory Therapy License)
• Active NBRC Credential for RRT
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
• NRP (Neonatal) - within 6 months
• ACLS (Cardiovascular) - within 6 months
