Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto, ON seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to monitor testing quality, ensure accuracy, efficiency and safety per IQMH standards. The role provides direct supervision to laboratory technicians and RPNs, coordinates with the Director/Manager of Laboratory Medicine and collaborates with other departments.

Reporting to the Manager, Laboratory Medicine, the Laboratory Supervisor will assist is monitoring the quality of laboratory testing by observing the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency and safety according to the established procedures and policies (IQMH Standards). The supervisor maintains open communication with the Director/Manager of Laboratory Medicine, staff in other department and nursing areas. The supervisor maintains and updates procedure manuals, training material and continuous quality improvements in the pre-analytical and other laboratory areas as required. The position shall provide direct supervision to laboratory technicians and RPNs to ensure adherence to the above standards. The supervisor acts as a quality resource and leaderfor the department of laboratory medicine. The position may include a cross-appointment to the Operational Excellence and Sustainability Department (OpX).
