Job summary

Air Canada Vacations in Montreal is seeking a Supervisor, Groups on a 12-month temporary basis to lead the Groups department, supervise staff, ensure productivity and exceptional service.

The role requires a diploma in Tourism/Communications or related field, 3+ years in the industry, and strong English/French communication. A hybrid work model and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • University or college diploma in Tourism, Communications and/or personnel Management.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in the industry.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, initiative and flexibility.
  • Ability to work under pressure, strong teamwork.
  • Knowledge of Group processes is mandatory.
  • Ability to resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Computer literacy in Word and Excel.
  • Fluent in English and French.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff including training, coaching, performance evaluations, discipline, and hiring.
  • Ensure effective and consistent communication throughout the team, encourage feedback.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the team.
  • Demonstrate influential, people-oriented leadership & support.
  • Build and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Handle client situations to resolve issues in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service and professionalism through monitoring and coaching.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Instill best practices, processes and systems to drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist training department to ensure staff have proper tools and identify training needs.
  • Oversee activities of the department in relation to priorities and problem resolutions.
  • Approach problem-solving with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • May perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

JOB TITLE : Supervisor, Groups

POSITION STATUS : Temporary 12 months

DEPARTMENT : Groups

Leading the Groups department and ensure productivity and customer service standards are met.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Responsible for the supervision of staff including training, coaching, performance evaluations, discipline, and hiring.
  • Ensure effective and consistent communication throughout the team, encourage feedback.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the team.
  • Demonstrate influential, people-oriented leadership & support.
  • Build and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Handle any client situation to accurately resolve issues in a timely fashion
  • Ensure a high level of customer service and professionalism is provided and always maintained through on-going monitoring and coaching.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Instill best practices, processes and systems to drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist the training department in ensuring that the staff has the proper tools to perform their duties and identify and recommend areas where training may be required.
  • Oversee the activities of the departments in relation to priorities and problem resolutions.
  • Approach problem-solving with a solutions oriented, can do mind set.
  • May perform other tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor.
What You Bring To The Team
  • University or College diploma in Tourism, Communications and/or personnel Management
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the industry
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates good judgment, initiative and flexibility
  • Ability to work under pressure, Strong team player
  • Knowledge of Group processes is mandatory
  • Ability to resolve problems quickly and efficiently

  • Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Knowledge of activities performed by other departments, their policies and Procedures, is an asset
  • Knowledge of Air Canada Vacation reservation system is an asset
  • Fluent in English and French
