Job summary

Evolution Mining is seeking a Supervisor Electrical to lead Underground Electrical Crews and oversee maintenance and construction in a dynamic underground environment. The role supports safe operation, equipment performance, and cost control, with a 7/7 12-hour day roster and options for FIFO or DIDO with camp access.

The compensation range for this role is CAD 135,700 to CAD 183,500 per year, with a competitive salary and bonus structure.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in the electrical discipline within the mining industry.
  • At least 2 years experience in Maintenance or Operations in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, CSA Z462 and CSA M421.
  • Familiar with underground mining equipment and applicable safety standards.
  • Aptitude for quickly learning new computer programs and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Direct multi-craft maintenance and construction crews across high/voltage systems.
  • Set goals, manage performance, and control maintenance costs.
  • Manage SAP notifications and work order backlogs.
  • Develop performance reviews and support promotions and corrective actions.
  • Evaluate preventive maintenance programs and report metrics to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About the role

Supervisor Electrical is a new role, which offers an exceptional opportunity to lead and direct Underground Electrical Crews, while ensuring they work in a safe and productive manner. This position participates actively to implement and execute maintenance and construction plans in a rapidly changing underground environment. This position facilitates the safety of staff, the community, and the environment, while communicating on a regular basis about equipment performance including availability, reliability, repeated problems, and cost.

The position will be on a 7/7 (12 – hour day) roster and while residential is preferred, the role is open to FIFO and DIDO, with access to our camp accommodation.

We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $135,700 to $183,500 CAD.

Key result areas in this role include:

  • Direct the activities of multi-craft (high, voltage, plant electrical, instrumentation, and telecommunication) maintenance and construction crews by leading and managing work assignments for direct reports and encouraging subordinates to set and accomplish goals.
  • Set goals and objectives and effectively manage the work performance of subordinates including cost management and control of maintenance activities.
  • Manage the SAP notification backlog and the SAP work order backlog.
  • Develop employee performance reviews and conduct annual performance evaluation discussion, recommend promotions, and carry out corrective actions as needed.
  • Support the evaluation of preventive maintenance programs and report key metrics to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
About you

As a Supervisor Electrical, you will hold a minimum of 7 years experience in the electrical discipline within the mining industry. You will also hold at least 2 years experience in Maintenance or Operations in a supervisory role. It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:

  • Thorough working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Knowledge of CSA Z462 Workplace Electrical Safety.
  • Knowledge of CSA M421 Use of Electricity in Mines.
  • Familiar with underground mining equipment.
  • An aptitude for quickly learning and adapting to new computer programs.
  • Continuation to the overall success of the team .
