Evolution Mining in Red Lake, Ontario seeks an Operator Scoop to progress to Miner 3. The role requires underground mining experience, operating scooptram, installing ground support, and working on a 14 on/14 off roster.

Qualifications

• 5 years of directly related experience in underground mining or progression through Miner levels.
• Ability to demonstrate competence to perform at Miner 5 level and progress further.
• Must demonstrate competence in ground support installation.
• Flexible, willing to work on a rotational shiftwork schedule.
• Hard working, conscientious, punctual and dependable with a strong safety record.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with others and follow instructions.
• Willing to participate in courses and development programs.

Responsibilities

• Operate scooptram and other mining equipment and obtain required licensing.
• Install ground support as directed.
• Perform tasks assigned by supervisor while maintaining safety and efficiency.
• Maintain safe working environment and wear PPE.
• Observe and learn from experienced workers to improve methods.
• Report unsafe conditions to supervisor and contribute to accident-free operations.
• Adhere to corporate policies and procedures and participate in training.

About the role

The Operator Scoop is responsible for successfully completing all required training, and acquiring and demonstrating your capability to competently perform all required tasks in a safe manner in order to advance to Miner 3 at Red Lake Operation. This role is to recruit for an existing vacancy.

The position will be on a 14 days on and 14 days off roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.

We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $100,970 to $136,607 CAD.

Key result areas in this role include:

• Perform duties with skills acquired as Miner 5 and 6.
• Train and successfully demonstrate ability to operate and obtain required licensing (e.g. scooptram, scissor lift, and various mining equipment).
• Install ground support (job task observation required).
• Perform tasks as directed under the direction of supervisor.
• Consistently work in a safe and conscientious manner.
• Comply with all safety procedures.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment.
• Observe experienced workers to gain and increase knowledge of methods, procedures, and performance standards.
• Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
• Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
• Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
• Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

About you

It is important that you have/ can demonstrate:

• 5 years of directly related experience, or several years’ experience working and progressing through various levels of underground mining
• Ability to demonstrate competence to perform all skills acquired as Miner 5, with aptitude to progress to next level
• Must demonstrate competence in installation of ground support
• Flexible, and willing to work on a rotational shiftwork basis
• Hard working and conscientious
• Punctual and dependable, with good attendance and safety record
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work and interact with others
• Willing and able to follow instructions
