Job summary

Corus Orthodontists is hiring an Accounting Supervisor to oversee our accounting operations from our Calgary office. You will lead the accounting team, manage month-end closes, and ensure accurate financial reporting in a collaborative, growth-focused network.

The role requires a CPA designation, a Bachelor’s degree, and at least four years of accounting/audit experience. Experience with Sage Intacct ERP and ASPE is highly preferred while MS Office proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting or audit experience.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading an accounting/audit team.
  • Proficiency with Sage Intacct ERP is highly preferable.
  • Strong MS Office skills and computer literacy.
  • Solid understanding of ASPE and related principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily accounting operations including AR, GL, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes per ASPE and policy.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports for accuracy.
  • Review work of junior accounting staff.
  • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and trends.
  • Ensure internal controls and procedures compliance.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support external audits and tax filings as needed.
  • Stay current with accounting standards and best practices.
  • Review accounting memos before submission to leadership.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Accounting Supervisor to join our growing team at Corus Orthodontists.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting this position will play a key role in overseeing our organization's financial operations. The Accounting Supervisor position requires a strong background in full-cycle accounting, leadership experience, and proficiency with accounting software. The successful candidate will oversee the daily accounting activities, ensure accuracy in financial reporting, guide the accounting team and review their work. Experience with Sage Intacct ERP is highly preferable.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Stay current with industry trends, accounting standards, and best practices.
  • Review accounting standards accounting memos before submission to the accounting leadership team.
  • May be required to perform other related duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting or audit experience.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading an accounting or audit team.
  • Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Sage Intacct ERP is highly preferable.
  • Computer literate – Strong Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Strong understanding of ASPE and other relevant accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
