Job summary

JD Sports Canada at CF Masonville Mall in Masonville, ON is seeking a Full-Time Supervisor to join our junior management team. You will provide managerial support, help maintain and improve customer service levels, and assist with daily store operations.

The role requires a sense of urgency, attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and the ability to train and develop staff. Availability includes opening, closing, or mid shifts Sunday through Saturday to fit business needs.

Qualifications

• Retail management experience of at least 2 years.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to open/close shifts and cover Sundays to Saturdays.
• Ability to motivate and develop a team to meet sales targets.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Word and Excel is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the junior management team to attract, engage and motivate customers into making purchases in-store using the latest visual techniques.
• Generate business results and achieve key KPIs.
• Handle customer complaints and inquiries to provide excellent levels of customer service.
• Provide assistance with the induction and training of employees and support store management.
• Maintain product knowledge and awareness to flow with trends.

THE ROLE

Our team is looking to full-fill the role of a Full- Time Supervisor at our CF Masonville Mall Location. Looking for someone with a high sense of urgency, keen eye for detail and driven mentality, eagerness to learn and train and develop themselves and their team. The ideal candidate would be part of the store’s Junior Management team, you will provide managerial support and help maintain as well as improve the levels of customer service throughout your section. You will provide assistance in the supervision of all staff while maintaining the standards of the shop floor. Furthermore, you will assist with certain managerial processes on a daily basis as needed by Store Management. Development opportunities within the junior management are vast as there is room to grow with the company in-store with leadership characteristics such as creativity, problem-solving, and adaptability.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with the junior management team to attract, engage and motivate customers into making purchases
• in-store by using the latest visual techniques
• Generate business results and achieve key KPIs
• Handling customer complaints and inquiries to provide excellent levels of customer service
• Creating innovative strategies to capitalize on sales opportunities
• Providing assistance with the maintenance of standards on the sales floor
• Encourage and foster progression throughout the store
• Managing associates within company guidelines, policies and procedures
• Providing assistance with the induction and training of employees
• Assist store manager with training and growing a team who are focused on delievering results
• maintain product knowledge and awareness to flow with trends
• contribute to learning and enforcing company expectations with every member of your team

Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:

• Retail management experience - 2 years minimum
• Proven peer guidance should also be available as 70% of management revolves around our team and guests
• Openness to feedback and willingness to develop.
• High sense of urgency and keen eye for detail.
• Positively motivate team members to drive daily sales and meet weekly objectives.
• Ability to mitigate issues through problem-solve and troubleshoot issues with store manager if needed.
• Ability to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Well rounded knowledge of both in-house and global brands (Nike,Jordan,The NorthFace, Hoodrich, etc.).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• IT skills- Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is an asset.
• Full time availability is a must as supervisors will be required to open, close or be scheduled a mid shift from Sunday-Saturday to fit the needs of the business.
