Job summary

Wonderbrands, a leading Canadian bakery brand, is seeking a Sanitation Supervisor to lead the sanitation team and ensure equipment cleanliness, SSOP/MSS adherence, and regulatory compliance.

Reporting to the Sanitation Manager, you will oversee daily sanitation activities, maintain records, and coordinate with internal departments and suppliers while upholding BRC food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a sanitation environment (food/bakery experience is desirable).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills and physically capable of performing the demands of the role.

Responsibilities

• Leads by example and fosters an environment of mutual respect and teamwork among Team Members.
• Conduct pre-shift huddles and provide feedback for Team Members.
• Leads, coaches, mentors and trains Sanitation Team Members.
• Coordinates sanitation activities to follow SSOPs and MSS with the EAM system.
• Maintains sanitation records on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Leads sanitation personnel onsite and ensures daily procedures are carried out.
• Follows GMPs, Food and Health & Safety Regulations and supports CFIA standards.

Overview

Reporting to the Sanitation Manager, the Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for the sanitation and organization of all equipment, machinery and utensils used in the production process as well as the cleanliness of the plant and external premises while providing hands-on leadership.

Responsibilities

• Leads by example and fosters an environment of mutual respect and teamwork among Team Members.
• Conduct pre-shift huddles and provides feedback for Team Members.
• Leads, coaches, mentors and trains Sanitation Team Members.
• Coordinates all sanitation activities to accomplish sanitation practices according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s) following our Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and EAM system.
• Maintains daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation records.
• Leads sanitation personnel onsite and ensuring daily requirements/procedures are carried out.
• Must be a demonstrated decision-maker who easily interacts with others.
• Maintains excellent working relationships with internal departments, external customers and suppliers.
• Follows GMP’s, Food and Health and Safety Regulations.
• Performs all job responsibilities under the strictest guidelines of the BRC food safety standards.
• Ensures all chemicals used in the cleaning process are mixed according to the suppliers’ specifications.
• Ensures Health & Safety and Food Safety principles are followed and adhered to.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in a sanitation environment (food/bakery experience is desirable).
• Previous experience in a sanitation environment using chemicals approved for CFIA is an asset.
• Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to detect the presence of a sanitation issue.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills and physically capable of performing the demands of the role.
• Scissor Lift license is an asset.
• Familiar with internal and external inspections.
• Flexible to work days, afternoons, nights & weekends if needed.
