Description

You are a seasoned Superintendent with over 5 years of field operations experience working in multi-disciplinary large-scale residential projects. You will ensure adherence to company standards for safety, scheduling, budget, quality control, and client satisfaction. You will leverage your industry expertise to achieve project goals while contributing to the organization’s long-term success.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee staff to ensure the successful delivery of a single complex commercial construction project to completion.
  • Ensure that field staff are equipped with the resources required to efficiently complete projects according to approved plans, specifications and applicable building codes while ensuring that safety regulations are strictly followed.
  • Actively participate in the pre-bid and preconstruction process regarding site layout, logistics, scheduling, and workforce planning.
  • Work collaboratively with safety personnel to ensure adherence to Ledcor’s Corporate safety programs and policies.
  • Ensure all projects follow Ledcor’s Construction Operations Manual and lead the development of the Project Quality Program (PQP), ensuring PEP conformance.
  • Review and maintain schedule, ensure milestones are met, identify scheduling issues and delays and lead solution development.
  • Promote the overall site safety program including subcontractor compliance with Ledcor standards, the Project Specific Safety Plan (PSSP), and all applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes.
  • Oversee the care and maintenance of internal and rental equipment on projects to maximize use while on the job sites and return equipment to storage or the rental company when no longer required.
  • Participate in the hiring and managing of hourly employees as required, and maintain, approve, and submit hourly timecards with all necessary details for job costing purposes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients/consultants to ensure client needs are met and ensure future business opportunities.
  • Support and promote Ledcor’s core values of safety, quality, integrity, sustainability and success.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction experience in a Superintendent position or similar with experience managing full cycle high rise residential projects.
  • Expertise in mass timber or finishing is preferred.
  • Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry related trade certification/education.
  • Expertise in safety within the organization and knowledge of OH&S and Environmental standards and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to work with senior management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of modern construction practices, documents, drawings, schedules, technologies, equipment, industry practices and contract negotiations.
  • Expertise in coaching and developing team members through constructive feedback and providing opportunities for development.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and challenges, while providing leadership in creating innovative solutions to achieve organizational objectives.

Working Conditions

  • Site based position in Toronto, Ontario.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean abstract.
