Job summary

EllisDon Corporation seeks a Superintendent to provide overall construction management on heavy civil projects in Ontario, collaborating with project managers, subcontractors, owners, engineers and architects. You will lead on-site activities, ensure safety, and keep drawings and specs aligned with the schedule and budget.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in heavy civil, a related degree, and knowledge of scheduling and contract software.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Heavy Civil experience on roads, bridges, earthworks or similar projects.
• Construction related degree/diploma required or equivalent training/experience.
• Working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall construction management including design, budget and schedule with Project Manager, Subcontractors, Owners, Engineers and Architects.
• Manage on-site work to ensure compliance with drawings, specs and safety regulations.
• Plan and implement schedules, determine manpower and material quantities, ensure equipment and trades are available.
• Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor progress.
• Advise PM and senior management of potential problems and assist in resolution.
