Job summary

Seed Source is seeking a Summer Agronomy Student Inspector to support field operations across Northeast Saskatchewan and mobile assignments within the province. You will gain hands-on experience in crop scouting, weed and disease identification, and pedigree seed inspections under CFIA guidelines.

The role offers frontline exposure to the seed industry, in-field client interactions, and opportunities to earn a CFIA-recognized license for inspecting seed crops.

and License Seed Crop Inspector

Location: Northeast Saskatchewan and within Saskatchewan (Mobile)

This hands-on role gives you a front-row seat to the pedigree seed industry—working directly with crop varieties up to four years before they ever hit the commercial market. Whether you are supporting our spring retail operations or walking fields to drive proactive farm management, you will build a powerful foundation in crop science, agronomy, and customer relations.We will provide experience in an Ag Retail with bulk and bag seed product orders and in field agronomy knowledge of identifying weeds, diseases, insects, and seed varieties. This position also provides you a license that is recognized by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, which is required in the pedigree seed industry.

What You Will Do

• Support Spring Operations: Assist growers with bulk and bagged seed product orders as spring seeding kicks into gear.
• Master Field Scrutiny: Conduct vital in-field visits—performing plant counts and identifying emerging weeds, insects, and crop diseases across cereals, pulses, and specialty crops.
• Drive Client Success: Build strong working relationships by scheduling your own scouting routes, communicating actionable findings, and collaborating closely with our team.
• Pedigree Seed Inspections: Deliver precise, timely inspection reports while upholding the rigorous standards required by the CFIA. While seeing all different crop types across Saskatchewan.
