Job description

The Goddard School located in West Windsor, NJ is seeking a motivated and caring Summer Camp Counselor. Our camp is dedicated to providing a fun, safe, and enriching environment for children to explore new activities, build friendships, and develop lifelong skills. We offer a variety of activities including arts and crafts, sports, STEM, and gardening. We have weekly field trips and pool trips (Senior and Adventurer's campers only).

Responsibilities

As a Summer Camp Counselor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and engaging with campers: Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers while leading them through daily activities.
  • Leading activities: Organize and facilitate a range of activities that promote skill development, creativity, and teamwork.
  • Creating a positive camp environment: Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where every camper feels valued and supported.
  • Acting as a role model: Demonstrate positive behavior, leadership, and respect for all campers and staff members.
  • Communicating with parents and guardians: Provide updates and feedback on campers' progress and experiences.
Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Experience working with children: Previous experience in a camp setting or similar environment is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills: Ability to guide and motivate children in a positive and encouraging manner.
  • Excellent communication skills: Capable of effectively communicating with campers, parents, and fellow staff.
  • Enthusiasm and creativity: A passion for creating fun and engaging experiences for children.
