Job description

Spend a summer with us at The Knowlesville Art and Nature Centre – create friendships and memories to last a lifetime!

The Camp Coordinator will assist in planning and delivering quality nature immersion programs for children, families, and adults in our rural New Brunswick region. The goal is to support at least 4 summer nature camps, including multi-day weekly camps, overnight youth and teen camps, and rewilding adult camps.

This role involves promoting environmental awareness through experiential activities such as games, bushcraft, nature hikes, and camping on our extensive trail and infrastructure systems. The coordinator will also manage intern staff, including junior counselors, overseeing camp activities.

Additional responsibilities include giving tours of the KAN Centre, managing the resource library and learning supplies, supervising the care of the centre grounds, trails, gardens, and nurseries, and assisting with newsletters and social media updates.

This position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs; applicants must be under 30 years old.

Job Duties

  4. Perform tasks such as gardening, cleaning, and cooking as needed
Assets
  • Camp leadership or teaching experience
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification

Requirements

  • Ability to follow directions
  • A recent Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
  • Physical ability to assist children (lifting, floor activities)
  • Weather-appropriate outdoor attire
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills via text, phone, and email
