Job summary

RED Mountain Resort BC is seeking a Summer Camp Counsellor to create a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children enrolled in the Summer Adventure Camp. You will lead outdoor activities that build confidence, teamwork, and a love of the outdoors while prioritizing camper safety and well-being.

Responsibilities include supervising campers, guiding daily activities such as hiking, nature exploration, outdoor games, crafts, and environmental education, and coordinating with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Current Standard First Aid & CPR certification preferred.
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.

• Supervise campers at all times and maintain a safe, positive, inclusive environment.
• Lead and assist with daily camp activities (hiking, nature exploration, outdoor games, crafts, team-building activities, chairlift rides, environmental education).
• Adapt activities to meet the age, ability, and needs of campers.
• Follow all RED Mountain Resort safety policies, emergency procedures, and risk management protocols.
• Conduct head counts, manage group transitions, and ensure safe loading/unloading during chairlift rides.
• Communicate professionally with parents, campers, and fellow staff.
• Complete attendance, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Assist with the setup, care, and storage of camp equipment and supplies.
• Represent RED Mountain Resort with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to hike on uneven terrain and participate in active outdoor programming.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
