SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS – Grades 7 to 10 – All Subjects

Are you a certified teacher living in Edmonton or the surrounding area, seeking day-to-day substitute opportunities at a single-site school? If so, apply to join our substitute teacher roster for the 2024-2025 school year. STEM Collegiate offers our Substitute Teachers $300 per day for full-day assignments (8:15 AM to 3:10 PM) in a welcoming environment with approximately 25 students per class.

POSITION DETAILS

• AM Jobs: 8:15 AM to 1:30 PM - $150
• PM Jobs: 11:55 AM to 3:10 PM - $150
• Full Day Jobs: 8:15 AM to 3:10 PM - $300
• Grades: 7 to 10, all subjects
• Student Population: Approximately 360 students across Grades 7-10

Qualifications and Credentials

• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
• Bachelor of Education Degree or equivalent recognized by Alberta Education

Skills and Competencies

• Interest and understanding in STEM education, with the ability to teach Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, English Language Arts, Social Studies, Health, and PE as needed
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances and student needs
• Strong classroom management skills to create a positive learning environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Organizational skills for lesson delivery and record-keeping
• Proactive problem-solving skills
• Empathy and ability to build positive relationships with students

Salary

• $300 for full-day (8:15 AM - 3:10 PM)
• $150 for half-day morning (8:15 AM - 1:30 PM)
• $150 for half-day afternoon (11:55 AM - 3:10 PM)
