Job summary

Winnipeg School Division is seeking compassionate individuals to support students with a range of developmental and educational goals across Winnipeg schools. The Substitute Educational Assistant will engage with students and staff, take initiative in and out of the classroom, and advocate for the overall well-being of students, staff, and the school itself.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Educational Assistant Certificate/Diploma preferred or related education.
Minimum 2 years of experience with children; preferred for those with diverse needs.
Knowledge of or experience with Special Education programs.
Knowledge of behavioral management techniques and strategies.
Valid First Aid/CPR C certificate.
NCI certificate is an asset; paid training provided.

Responsibilities

Assist students of all ages in achieving developmental and educational goals.
Engage with students and staff, taking initiative in classroom or outdoor settings to meet assignment needs.
Advocate for the overall well-being of students, staff and the school.
Support in both classroom and non-classroom environments, including Special Education programs.
