Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consulting firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join our San Diego or Ontario, CA office as a designer. ECI specializes in engineering services for electric utilities (substation, protection, transmission), alternative energy systems, communication, oil / gas, mining, and heavy industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical and physical design work for electrical substations ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Performing substation electrical and physical design work and drafting for assigned projects.
• Supporting other projects as required.
• Resolving AutoCAD software operating issues.

Minimum Requirements :

• College degree or two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting / design.
• Minimum of 15 years of computer-aided drafting and designer experience.
• Advanced computer skills and expertise in AutoCAD; knowledge of MicroStation is preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Results-oriented with the ability to complete design assignments with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with team members and clients.
• Strong work ethic with attention to detail, quality, schedule, and budget.
• Occasional travel / driving may be required.
• Must meet ECI's auto insurance requirements.
• Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.
