Job summary

The International Programs Office at SUNY Cortland is seeking a part-time student assistant to support study abroad initiatives and office operations. This position is located at Old Main, Room 219 and requires 2–5 hours per week depending on office needs and events.

The role involves presentations, advising, promotions, and event support to engage students and campus partners. This opportunity emphasizes strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a willingness to work with students,

Qualifications

  • Must be a current SUNY Cortland student.
  • Student must be in good academic and judicial standing.
  • Student must be a returned study abroad student.
  • Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Must have a desire to work with students, faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Giving classroom presentations (approx 15 – 20 minutes) about study abroad experiences.
  • Holding weekly office hours for drop in student advising.
  • Creating promotional materials for the office.
  • Assisting with events such as the International Welcome Celebration and Study Abroad Fair.
  • Developing program guides for the study abroad programs.
  • Staffing informational tables.
  • Assist with student walk-ins as needed.
  • Other projects as assigned.
