Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Student Food Services Worker in Halifax, NS to join the Dal Food Services team. You will help prep food, follow safety guidelines, and develop customer service and social skills while working in a campus dining environment.

No prior experience is required, but candidates with food safety certifications and strong teamwork orientation are preferred. This is a part-time student role with on-site duties and potential PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Food service experience is an asset.
• Valid WHMIS and Food Safe certification; First Aid is an asset.
• Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Additional certification may be required by work location.
• Ability to work effectively supervised or unsupervised.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for customer service.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

As a Student Food Services Worker on the Dal Food Services team, not only will you play an important part in helping us prep food and follow safety guidelines, but you’ll master customer service and social skills! Job Responsibilities

• Prepares and builds food items according to standardized recipes and directions
• Properly stores food in accordance with standards
• Sets up workstations including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, steam tables, etc.
• Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes workstations
• Serves food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating the customers’ needs
• Replenishes food items and ensure product is stocked to appropriate levels
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guest, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including food safety and sanitation
• Ensures security of company assets

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
