Job summary

St. Lawrence College is seeking an experienced Student Wellness & Accessibility Counselor to provide intake, assessment, treatment planning, intervention and referrals for students.

You will support diverse student populations—including international students and individuals with disabilities—to promote learning, self-advocacy and academic success. The role involves individual and group counselling, crisis intervention, and collaboration with faculty and staff, aiming to improve mental health

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field and registration in appropriate College.
• 2–5 years of post-secondary counselling experience with diverse student groups.
• Experience developing academic accommodation plans and crisis interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide intake, assessment, treatment planning, intervention and referrals for students.
• Deliver individual and group counselling to support learning and self-advocacy.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff and administration to address student needs.
• Develop psychoeducational sessions and workshops for students and staff.
• Apply evidence-informed counselling modalities including CBT and trauma-informed approaches.
