Job summary

Northern College is seeking a part-time Student Success Advisor in Moosonee, ON to support students and develop learning plans. You will identify early intervention strategies, provide resources, and monitor progress to promote academic success.

The role reports to the Campus Manager and offers pension-like benefits, professional development, wellness programs, and relocation support where applicable.

Qualifications

• Two-year diploma in Human Services such as Social Work or Indigenous Studies.
• Four years of practical experience providing services to clients in the social services fields.
• Valid Criminal Record Check (Canadian Police Information Centre).

Responsibilities

• Develop and plan workshops tailored to students' academic success (i.e.: study skills workshops).

Reporting to the Campus Manager, the Student Success Advisor will support students studying at Northern College, identify early intervention strategies, and provide learning resources for student success.

What You Will Be Doing

Required Skills

What you will need to be considered:

• Two (2) year diploma in the field of Human Services such as Social Work or Indigenous Studies;
• Four (4) years of practical experience providing services to clients in the social services fields; and
• Valid Criminal Record Check (Canadian Police Information Centre).

The successful candidate will be well-organized, have strong written and verbal communication skills, possess problem-solving skills, and be able to work both as part of a team and independently.
