AbaData seeks curious student software developers for Spring 2027 in Calgary, Canada. Join a growing energy tech company building a software platform with real customers.

4- or 8-month terms start May 2027, with mentorship from senior developers and hands-on experience in full-stack development. Ideal candidates are in 3rd or 4th year CS or Engineering, familiar with HTML/CSS/JavaScript (React/Dojo), and have exposure to back-end tech (C#/.NET or Node.js) with SQL Server.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced developers to build software solutions for the energy industry.
• Write full-stack code from front-end interfaces to database design.
• Create and maintain AbaData features and functionality.
• Participate in code reviews, stand-ups, and mentorship from senior developers.
• Test, troubleshoot, and debug software to high performance and reliability.

The Opportunity

We're lookingfor curious, motivated Student Software Developers in their 3rd or 4thyear to join us for Spring 2027 for a 4 month or 8 month term.

You’ll contribute to real features used by real customerswhile learning from experienced developers who care about mentoring the nextgeneration of tech talent. If you’re excited about full stack development,AI-enabled products, and solving meaningful industry problems, keep reading.

What you’ll be doing

• Collaborate withexperienced developers and product experts to build software solutions forthe energy industry
• Write codeacross the full stack from front-end interfaces to database design
• Createand and maintain AbaData features and functionality
• Participatein code reviews, stand-ups, and get hands-on mentorship from seniordevelopers
• Test,troubleshoot, and debug software to a high bar of performance andreliability

Who we are looking for

• 3rdor 4th year Computer Science or Engineering student
• Familiaritywith with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JS frameworks (e.g. React, Dojo)
• Exposureto back-end development (e.g., C#/.NET, Node.js)
• Experiencewith MS SQL Server or relationship databases is an asset
• Excellentcommunication and teamwork skills
• Curiosity, eagernessto learn, and attention to detail
