Job summary

The University of Manitoba is seeking a Lecturer/Instructor SWRK 2020 A02- CUPE 3909 Unit 1 (Students) in the Faculty of Social Work for Winter 2027. The position supports Community Development and Social Work SWRK 2020 A02 - 3 Credit Hours, with start on January 1, 2027 and end on April 30, 2027.

Qualifications

• Master's degree, Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidate preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English.

• Empathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students is required.
• Previous teaching in the subject area or related area would be an asset.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparing instructional and testing materials relevant to the course being taught.

• Providing constructive feedback to students.
• Maintaining regular office hours.

In the event that the course offers a field component, the instructor will be required to participate in training relating to due diligence and safety. The instructor will also be required to develop due diligence and safety plans for the specific field opportunity and to follow those plans in the field.
