CMCC Library in North York, Ontario is seeking two Student – Library Assistants to support staff with circulation desk duties and extended library hours. Training will be provided and the role reports to the Director, Library and Information Services.

Hours include occasional morning, evening, and weekend shifts. Start date is October 1, 2026. The position offers compensation of $17.95 per hour for student work.

Qualifications

  • CMCC students currently in Years I & II preferred.
  • Previous experience with library procedures is an asset.
  • Must be flexible to work posted shifts when required; prior notice will be given.

  • Check-in and check-out of library materials
  • Maintain circulation desk statistics while at desk
  • Answer telephone calls, take messages, and handle customer inquiries
  • Re-shelve incoming materials

POSITION SUMMARY:

The CMCC Library requires two (2) additional students that will be responsible for assisting the staff in performing various circulation desk duties. Students will support the staff during extended library hours as well as staff vacations and sick days. Training will be provided.
