Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Quality Training and Administration Intern in Newmarket, Ontario. You will work with the quality team to establish, manage, and optimize site-wide training programs, ensuring operators are trained, qualified, and certified per customer specs and ISO/AS standards.

Start May 2027 with potential for future opportunities. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a university internship program (3rd year of 4), with interest in Quality, manufacturing, and process engineering.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a university internship program, currently in 3rd year of a 4-year degree.
  • Business Administration, Industrial, or Manufacturing / Process Engineering preferred.
  • No formal work experience required; student intern.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging training materials with SMEs.
  • Update training guidelines to ensure curriculum accuracy and compliance to quality standards.
  • Support and enable the site’s transition to new training systems, tools, and digital learning platforms.
  • Identify gaps in training workflows and implement standardized solutions.
  • Collaborate with teams to establish standard processes and skills matrices for training.
  • Maintain training trackers and dashboards to capture, analyze, and present key metrics.
  • Support audits to maintain ISO/AS quality standards.

About This Opportunity

The Quality Training and Administration Intern will work within quality team to establish, manage, and optimize site‑wide training processes and exam administrations. In this role, you will ensure that operators, technicians, and quality personnel across all operational shifts are thoroughly trained, qualified, and certified in accordance with customer specifications, company procedures, and ISO/AS standards.

  • Engineering principles and basic knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in learning Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Excel macros or PowerBI is a strong asset
  • Ability to establish, streamline, and standardize training processes, procedures, and work instructions
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate employees
  • Strong organizational and scheduling capabilities
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with various functions
  • Knowledge of software tools used in capturing, tracking, and presenting metrics in clear, actionable formats
  • General knowledge of AS / ISO Quality Standards and standard company operating rules and procedures
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, time management, and detailed record‑keeping skills

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and deliver engaging training materials for core operational skills
  • Evaluate existing training guidelines on the QMS and proactively retire or update outdated/obsolete modules to ensure curriculum accuracy and compliance to quality standards
  • Support and enable the site’s transition to new training systems, tools, and digital learning platforms, facilitating smooth user adoption
  • Identify any gaps in the training workflows and implement standardized solutions
  • Collaborate with various teams to establish standard processes, operating procedures, and structured skills matrices to ensure operators are fully trained and qualified
  • Maintain training trackers and dashboards to capture, analyze, and present key metrics to management
  • Support audits to help maintain compliance, particularly for ISO/AS quality standards, IPC workmanship specifications, and site‑specific training requirements
Duties Of This Position Are Varied And Will Include
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment with exposure to manufacturing environments.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor, databases, or detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
