Job summary

Celestica Inc. invites applications for a 16-month Student Intern in Quality Administration & Training at our Newmarket, ON site.

The role focuses on engineering principles, QMS training, and developing standardized processes while collaborating with a global team in a manufacturing environment. You will support the design of training materials, implement new learning systems, and assist audits to maintain ISO/AS standards.

Qualifications

  • Engineering principles and basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in learning Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Excel macros or PowerBI is a strong asset.
  • Ability to establish, streamline, and standardize training processes, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate employees.
  • Strong organizational and scheduling capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with various functions.
  • Knowledge of software tools used in capturing, tracking, and presenting metrics in clear, actionable formats.
  • General knowledge of AS / ISO Quality Standards and standard company operating rules and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, time management, and detailed record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with SMEs to design and deliver engaging training materials for core operational skills.
  • Evaluate existing training guidelines on the QMS and retire or update obsolete modules to ensure curriculum accuracy and compliance to quality standards.
  • Support site’s transition to new training systems, tools, and digital learning platforms, facilitating smooth user adoption.
  • Identify gaps in training workflows and implement standardized solutions; collaborate to establish standard processes and skills matrices.
  • Maintain training trackers and dashboards to capture, analyze, and present key metrics to management.
  • Support audits to help maintain compliance with ISO/AS quality standards and site-specific training requirements.

About this opportunity:

Activities:

  • Evaluate existing training guidelines on the QMS and proactively retire or update outdated/obsolete modules to ensure curriculum accuracy and compliance to quality standards
  • Support and enable the site’s transition to new training systems, tools, and digital learning platforms, facilitating smooth user adoption
  • Identify any gaps in the training workflows and implement standardized solutionsCollaborate with various teams to establish standard processes, operating procedures, and structured skills matrices to ensure operators are fully trained and qualified
  • Maintain training trackers and dashboards to capture, analyze, and present key metrics to management
  • Support audits to help maintain compliance, particularly for ISO/AS quality standards, IPC workmanship specifications, and site-specific training requirements
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment with exposure to manufacturing environments.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor, databases, or detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Experience: No Formal Experience Required.

Education: Currently enrolled in a University Internship program completing 3rd year of a 4-year program. Business Administration, Industrial, or Manufacturing / Process Engineering preferred.
