Job summary

The role emphasizes building skills in Excel (including VBA), PowerPoint, and financial terminology, with mentorship and opportunities to contribute to real projects across Fidelity’s finance group.

Qualifications

• Working toward a university degree in finance, commerce, business or economics.
• Analytical skills including working knowledge of financial terms and ratios.
• Ability to manage projects, juggle multiple priorities and manage deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office especially PowerPoint and Excel; advanced Excel skills (Macros, VBA) are a plus; Access is an asset.
• Available on a full-time basis for the duration of the co-op term.

Responsibilities

• Learn about current market trends and their impact on a mutual fund company.
• Partner with Fidelity teams and understand how finance supports various areas.
• Prepare monthly management reporting by compiling financial and operational data.
• Perform financial analysis on sales, operations and financial data to identify variances and trends.
• Assist with development and testing of new finance reporting tools.
• Participate in research projects focusing on the mutual fund industry and market landscape.
• Support finance goals and other ad hoc assignments.

As a student in Financial Analysis, you will have the opportunity to

• Learn about current market trends and how it impacts a mutual fund company.
• Partner with various teams across Fidelity and how finance provides support to those areas.

• Complete financial analysis on the sales, operations and financial data to understand key variances and trends.
• Assist with the development and testing new finance reporting tools.
• Participate in several research projects focusing on the mutual fund industry with the purpose of learning about the industry, key trends and the competitive landscape.
• Provide support to finance organizational goals and other ad hoc assignments

What We’re Looking For

• Working towards a university degree in finance, commerce, business or economics
• Analytical skills including working knowledge of financial terms and ratios
• Ability to manage projects, juggle multiple priorities and manage deadlines
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office especially PowerPoint and Excel, advanced Excel skills are an asset (i.e. Marcos, VBA coding). Experience with Microsoft Access is an asset
• You must be available on a full-time basis for the duration of the co‑op term

You will be working on a flexible hybrid schedule as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement.

Competitive Pay for Specialized Talent

This contract role offers a flexible, hourly compensation model that reflects your expertise and the value you bring. The undergraduate hourly rate ranges from $23.00 to $27.00, based on experience and qualifications.
