Job summary

Nipissing University is seeking a Student Awards Coordinator, Recruitment to lead financial aid support for prospective students and to drive recruitment activities. The role focuses on promoting scholarships, bursaries, and awards while assessing student financial needs and OSAP eligibility.

The successful candidate will travel occasionally and work evenings/weekends, participating in Open House Events and the Ontario Universities Fair. A degree and relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree preferred, ideally from Nipissing University.
• 2–3 years of practical experience administering financial aid in a post-secondary setting.
• Additional training in marketing, personal finance and taxation, counselling, communications, or human behaviour is an asset.

Responsibilities

Employment Posting: Student Awards Coordinator, Recruitment

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Aid & Financial Services, the Student Awards Coordinator, Recruitment is the primary Financial Aid contact and resource for all prospective students and plays an important role inNipissing University’s recruitment activities. The Student Awards Coordinator, Recruitment will promote entrance scholarships, bursaries and awards, and is responsible for providing financial counselling to incoming students and assessing their financial needs and eligibility for OSAP. Additional areas of responsibility include reviewing the OSAP year-to-date files to provide outreach support to students with disabilities, youth in care, and other special student circumstances.

This position will require occasional travel and regular evening and weekend work. Candidates must be available for Open House Events as well as the Ontario Universities Fair. The Student Awards Coordinator, Recruitment will be notified in advance of any changes to the regularly scheduled shifts as outlined in Article 22.02 of the collective agreement.

The successful candidate will hold an undergraduate university degree, preferably from Nipissing University, along with two (2) to three (3) years of practical experience administering financial aid in a post-secondary education setting. Additional training in marketing, personal finance and taxation, counselling, communications, or human behaviour is considered an asset.

This position is classified as Wage Grade 60, with a wage range from $28.70 per hour (Step 1) to $36.34 per hour (Step 9). Placement within the salary range will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as internal equity and market conditions.

A comprehensive group benefits and pension plan is offered, as well as a tuition subsidy for eligible dependents.

Hiring is subject to final budgetary approval.
