Job summary

Current Opportunity – Structural Technologist

Skyline Engineering is seeking an entry to intermediate level Structural Technologist. We require candidates with a keen interest in structural engineering design, building modelling, and knowledge of the construction industry. The successful candidate will be directly supervised by a senior technologist with over 20 years of experience.

Duties

• Drafting of structural drawings
• Coordinate the structural design and liaise with the consultant team (architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc.)
• On-site structural review of structural designs
• Preparation of technical site instructions
• Review of shop drawings

Qualifications and Requirements

• Completed secondary school Drafting course
• Proficiency in AutoCad and/or Revit

Other Assets

• Completed Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, or Computer Aided Design and Drafting
• Experience reading and preparing structural and/or architectural drawings
• General understanding of construction and construction procedures
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to take direction and work well with others
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Strong attention to detail
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle are assets
