Job summary

Jardeg-Construction recruits Structural Ironworker Journeypersons for a maintenance project at SUNCOR Firebag, near Fort McMurray, Alberta. The role features a 6 days on/1 off rotation with 12 hours per day, camp accommodations, and charter flights from Calgary or Edmonton.

Safety tickets are required and some costs may be covered. Drivers license, drug test, and good standing journeyperson credentials are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Structural Ironworker Journeyperson Ticket or Apprenticeship in good standing.
• Valid Full Class 5 Driver’s License – no restrictions; 3 year driving abstract.
• Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test completed satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

• Erect structural steel components and install conveyors and robotic equipment at Suncor Firebag site.
• Assemble rigging (cables, pulleys, hooks) to move heavy equipment and materials; erect pre-fabricated metal structures.
• Check alignments and join steel parts by bolting or tack welding with electric arc processes.
• Comply with safety trainings: CSO, Fall Protection, Elevated Work Platform, Confined Space, WHMIS 2015, H2S Awareness, Wildlife Awareness.
