Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies is seeking skilled structural steel erectors and metal cladding installers to join our Canadian team. You will read blueprints, plan efficient installation sequences, and work at elevated heights using aerial platforms and ladders.

The role requires travel to multiple sites across Canada for extended periods and lifting of heavy materials. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to operate tools and equipment while maintaining a clean, safe site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ steel erecting and/or metal cladding installation experience.
• Able to communicate in technical and user-friendly language with staff, professionals and management.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Journeyperson certification preferred.
• Safety training in fall protection, aerial platform and WHMIS preferred.
• Ability to work shift work.
• Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communications.
• Experience with pre-engineered and conventional steel structures is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Install structural steel frames, metal cladding, trims, and insulation.
• Read, understand and interpret blueprints.
• Plan task sequence for efficient installation of steel, metals and building envelopes.
• Work safely at elevated heights with aerial platforms and ladders.
• Operate power and hand tools safely.
• Rig, hoist and move materials with cranes and equipment.
• Work independently and in teams in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Travel and work at various Canada-wide job sites for extended periods.
• Maintain a clean and safe worksite.
• Lift at least 50 pounds.
• Use a computer, email and iPhone apps.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Ability to install structural steel frames, metal cladding, trims, and insulation.
• Knowledgeable in reading, understanding and interpreting blueprints.
• Assist in planning the sequence of tasks to install structural steel, miscellaneous metals and building envelopes most efficiently.
• Work at elevated heights safely with the use of aerial work platforms and ladders.
• Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Rig, hoist and move materials with the assistance of mobile cranes and other equipment within worksite.
• Working independently and with a team in a high paced construction environment.
• Must be able to travel and work at various job site locations across Canada for extended periods.
• Always maintain a clean and safe worksite.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
