Job summary

Hatch Ltd. in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, invites a 3rd or 4th year Civil Engineering student to join as a 16‑month Structural Engineering Internship.

You will support the global office network, assisting with review, analysis, and design tasks for energy and industrial projects. Responsibilities include preparing drawings and calculations, using CAD tools for 2D and 3D work, and contributing to progress reports while collaborating with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be a 3rd or 4th year Civil Engineering student.
• Enrollment in structural engineering courses preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD tools listed (MathCAD, Excel, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, MicroStation, AutoCAD).
• Strong writing and oral communication skills; able to work in a team.
• Transcript (official or unofficial) must be submitted with application.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, design calculations, material takeoff, literature review, technical specifications, and reports for energy and industrial projects.
• Use CAD tools for 2D drawing and 3D model reviews.

Hatch is currently looking for a Structural Engineering Student for a 16-month internship.You will support offices globally working from our Saskatoon, Saskatchewan office location.Candidates should demonstrate an interest in the field of Structural Engineering to assist the Structural Discipline.The role is to provide review, analysis and design support, and research of material for the Engineers and other Technologists.

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, design calculations, material takeoff, literature review, technical specifications, and reports for energy and industrial projects.

You bring to the role:

• The successful candidate will be a 3rd or 4th year student working toward a degree in Civil Engineering with specific interest in structural analysis and design. Successful completion of, or enrollment in structural engineering courses is required.
• Familiarity with CAD/Design software applications such as MathCAD, Excel, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, MicroStation and AutoCAD will be considered an asset.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated writing and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
• High regard for job safety and quality work; Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Extracurricular involvement; enthusiastic and ambitious.
