Job summary

Hatch is seeking a motivated Structural Designer intern to support global projects from our Sudbury, ON office. You will assist in producing technical drawings and help develop detailed design elements.

You will be graduating in 2026 or recently graduated from a Civil/Structural program, with exposure to 2D/3D CAD and knowledge of relevant design standards. This role offers hands-on experience, collaboration with diverse teams, and growth opportunities on-site and across Hatch offices.

Qualifications

  • Graduating 2026 or recently graduated from an accredited technical College program specializing in Civil / Structural design.
  • Awareness and some experience of 2D and 3D structural design/drawing software packages.
  • Some background understanding of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to structural design.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in producing and maintaining technical drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software
  • Support conceptual layout work and development of design details
  • Perform clash detection and ensure coordination with other disciplines
  • Participate in formal design review processes
  • Verify site conditions and dimensions as required
  • Incorporate safety considerations into design work
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project scope, schedule, and quality requirements

As The Successful Candidate, You Will

Compensation

Range: $62,000 - $65,000

At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness.

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location. In addition to base pay, our total rewards package may include performance-based incentives, comprehensive benefits, and other programs designed to support your well-being and growth.
