Hatch seeks a Structural Engineering Student for a 16-month internship in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The role supports the Structural Discipline with review, analysis and design tasks for global projects.

You will gain experience in engineering drawings, design calculations, and CAD model reviews while collaborating with a diverse, global team and benefiting from mentorship and hands-on engineering exposure.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will be a 3rd or 4th year student working toward a degree in Civil Engineering with specific interest in structural analysis and design.
  • Familiarity with CAD/Design software such as MathCAD, Excel, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, MicroStation and AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; strong writing and verbal communication.
  • Interest in working on energy and industrial projects; safety and quality focus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, design calculations, material takeoff, literature review, technical specifications, and reports for energy and industrial projects.
  • Use CAD tools for 2D drawing and 3D model reviews.
  • Provide support for progress reporting and assessment of ongoing engineering tasks.
  • Interface with staff to support the project as necessary.

Hatch is currently looking for a Structural Engineering Student for a 16-month internship.You will support offices globally working from our Saskatoon, Saskatchewan office location.Candidates should demonstrate an interest in the field of Structural Engineering to assist the Structural Discipline.The role is to provide review, analysis and design support, and research of material for the Engineers and other Technologists.

You bring to the role:
  • The successful candidate will be a 3rd or 4th year student working toward a degree in Civil Engineering with specific interest in structural analysis and design. Successful completion of, or enrollment in structural engineering courses is required.
  • Familiarity with CAD/Design software applications such as MathCAD, Excel, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, MicroStation and AutoCAD will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated writing and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
  • High regard for job safety and quality work; Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Extracurricular involvement; enthusiastic and ambitious.
