The Opportunity:

WSP is growing and has an opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our Water & Wastewater Facilities Structural Team located in Thornhill, Ontario. As an engineer with us, you will be part of our growing team, using your skills and engineering expertise to design and partner on major infrastructure projects in Canada from coast to coast. You will be an integral part of our dynamic structural team, working on water treatment plants, reservoirs, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, underground liquid retaining tanks, chambers, solid waste management facilities, and other infrastructure projects.

What you can expect to do here:
  • Create structural analysis and design models, engineering calculations, and hand calculations.
  • Generate markups for project production using Bluebeam or manual methods.
  • Participate in construction services, including shop drawing reviews, RFIs, change orders, and site inspections.
  • Conduct site surveys, gather field data, and assess existing structures.
  • Collaborate between design and construction teams.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster growth.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in a dynamic environment.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in Water and Wastewater facilities in Ontario or across Canada.
  • Professional Engineer License in Canada.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Reliability and accountability.
  • Familiarity with codes and standards like OBC2024, NBCC2020, CSA A23, ACI 350.
  • Proficiency in structural software such as Staad.Pro, S-Frame, CSI series; basic knowledge of BIM360 and REVIT.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • A Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
