The Opportunity:

WSP is growing and has an opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our Water & Wastewater Facilities Structural Team located in Thornhill, Ontario. As an engineer with us, you will be part of our growing team, using your skills and engineering expertise to design and partner on major infrastructure projects in Canada from coast to coast. You will be involved in designing water treatment plants, reservoirs, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, underground liquid retaining tanks, chambers, solid waste management facilities, and other infrastructure facilities.

What you can expect to do here:

• Create structural analysis and design models, calculations, and hand calculations for structural components and entire structures.
• Generate markups for project production using Bluebeam software or manual methods.
• Participate in construction services, including shop drawing reviews, RFIs, change order assessments, and on-site inspections.
• Conduct site surveys, gather field data, and perform condition assessments of existing structures.
• Facilitate collaboration between design and construction teams.
• Share expertise with junior staff to foster growth.
• Perform additional duties as assigned in a dynamic role.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in Water and Wastewater facility or solid waste facility structural design in Ontario or across Canada.
• Professional Engineer License in Canada.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Reliability and accountability to deliver quality work.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, such as OBC2024, NBCC2020, CSA A23, ACI 350.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software like Staad.Pro, S-Frame, CSI series, and basic knowledge of BIM360 and REVIT.
• Strong communication skills for proposals, reports, and technical memoranda.
• Ability to work under pressure and coordinate among stakeholders.
• A Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
