Job summary

Komline Pure Water is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to lead the structural design of modular water and wastewater facilities. You will own end-to-end design delivery, coordinating with process, mechanical, and electrical teams, and ensuring compliance with codes throughout concept to commissioning.

The role requires a BC-registered (or eligible) engineer capable of sealing designs, with hands-on CAD/BIM experience and a background in steel structures and modular construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering required.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligible for registration in BC.
• Ability to seal structural designs in BC; registration in other provinces/territories is an asset.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of modular buildings, steel frames, tanks, foundations, equipment supports, and specialty structures for water and wastewater facilities.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications per building codes and standards.
• Produce and review AutoCAD-based structural drawings and fabrication layouts.
• Develop and coordinate 3D structural models for interdisciplinary coordination and constructability reviews.
• Design for transportation, lifting, and installation loads, including modular shipping stresses.
• Coordinate structural interfaces with process, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Design and review steel and stainless steel tanks and related containment systems.
• Review shop drawings, fabrication packages, and as-built documentation.
• Provide engineering support during fabrication and construction; resolve field issues and non-conformances.
• Seal drawings and calculations as required by professional registration.
