Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Calgary to lead the design and delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure across Western Canada. You will mentor a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulators to deliver sustainable infrastructure.

The role offers hybrid work options and opportunities to work on a diverse range of facilities, from treatment plants to pumping stations, with a focus on high-quality engineering and community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• P.Eng. designation with APEGA eligibility or current member.
• 10+ years of progressive structural engineering experience, municipal water & wastewater preferred.
• Experience designing reinforced concrete, structural steel, and masonry structures.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and engineering standards.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and working on multidisciplinary projects.
• Excellent communication and client management skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
• Perform structural assessments, site investigations, and evaluations.
• Develop retrofit and rehabilitation strategies for concrete/steel structures.
• Monitor scope, schedules, budgets, and fees for project delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and regulators.
• Review construction activities and ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Support business development and client relationship management.
