Job summary

Arcadis, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer for our Calgary, Alberta, office. You will manage projects spanning transportation, water, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings, ensuring code conformance and high-quality deliverables.

Lead the analysis and design of structures, coordinate with disciplines, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an asset.
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in structural design.
Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Alberta; other provinces a plus.
Knowledge of Canadian design standards and codes; US codes an asset.
Ability to lead multi-engineer teams with CAD staff.

Responsibilities

Lead analysis and design of structures and preparation of drawings and specifications.
Coordinate with Architecture, Electrical, Mechanical disciplines.
Attend meetings and prepare presentations as needed.
Prepare bid documentation for project pursuits.
Conduct periodic site reviews to verify conformance with design and codes.
Review submittals (RFIs, shop drawings) during CA phase of projects.
Provide direction to Engineering & CAD staff; mentor junior engineers.
Perform QA/QC activities and peer reviews.
