Job summary

Kleinfelder seeks an Intermediate/Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead civil/structural activities on multiple Alberta projects. Requires PE in Alberta and 5+ years in oil & gas, with proficiency in STAAD Pro, RAM Connection, and Civil 3D.

Hybrid work arrangement in Edmonton or Calgary, AB with occasional site travel. Join a multidisciplinary team delivering resilient infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer in Alberta.
• 5+ years of civil/structural design experience in oil & gas.
• Familiarity with CSA, NBC, ABC, ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC codes for piling, concrete and steel structures.
• Proficiency with structural software such as STAAD Pro, RISA, or S‑FRAME.
• Experience with dynamic analysis of vibration foundations; Dyna 6 is a plus.
• RAM Connection, Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and MS Office experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for civil/structural engineering activities on small to medium sized projects.
• Establish design criteria, prepare design calculations, and material takeoffs (MTO) per project requirements.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to meet deadlines; deliverables include foundations, pile design, structural steel, concrete, grading, site development.
• Assist in developing work practices and procedures; support proposals, estimates, design basis documents and project execution plans.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff; support the Civil/Structural Lead/Manager as required.
• Plan and schedule activities against the project plan; monitor progress and deliverables.
• Stay current with new technologies and recommend improvements for processes and tools.
• Support business development and sales activities as needed.
