Location: Various locations across Ontario
As aStructural Engineer/Building Engineer, you will be responsible for designing,analyzing, and overseeing the construction of building structures to ensurethey are safe, functional, and compliant with local codes and regulations. Yourrole will be crucial in ensuring the structural integrity and stability ofvarious construction projects.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Design and analyzestructural components and systems for various types of buildings,including residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
- Develop detailed engineeringplans, specifications, and drawings that meet local building codes andsafety standards.
- Conduct structural assessmentsand evaluations of existing buildings to determine their condition andcompliance with current codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with architects,contractors, and other engineering professionals to ensure that designsare feasible and meet project requirements.
- Oversee and reviewconstruction processes to ensure that structural elements are builtaccording to specifications and standards.
- Provide technical guidanceand support during the construction phase, addressing any structuralissues or challenges that arise.
- Prepare and maintaindetailed reports and documentation related to structural designs,evaluations, and construction activities.
- Stay updated on changes in building codes,engineering standards, and industry best practices to ensure accurate andinnovative designs.
Requirements
- Relevantcertification or diploma in Structural Engineering, Building Engineering, CivilEngineering, or a related field.
- Provenexperience as a structural engineer or building engineer, with a strongunderstanding of structural design, analysis, and construction.
- Proficiencyin engineering software and tools used for structural analysis and design.
- Stronganalytical skills with the ability to assess and resolve complex engineeringchallenges.
- Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with project teams andstakeholders.
- Detail-orientedwith strong organizational skills for managing design projects anddocumentation.
- Ability to stay current with evolving buildingcodes, engineering standards, and industry practices.
