TalentSphere Staffing Solutions Inc. is assisting Oxford County, Ontario with a full-time, in-office Structural Engineer, P.Eng. role.

The candidate will design and analyze structures across residential, commercial, and industrial projects, coordinating with clients and project teams. • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related discipline from a Canadian university.
• Minimum 7 years of structural engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Ontario Building Code knowledge.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis for a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Develop structural designs from concept through detailed design, tender documentation, and construction.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings, and supporting documentation.
• Produce and review structural drawings, including plans, elevations, details, and design specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Support building permit applications through the preparation of plans, specifications, and related documents.
• Interpret site surveys, geotechnical reports, and other technical information to inform design decisions.
• Apply the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and relevant structural design standards to project requirements.
• Conduct site visits, field reviews, and construction inspections, documenting findings and preparing site reports.
• Support contract administration, including shop drawing reviews, contractor submittals, change orders, and responses to requests for information.
• Coordinate with clients, designers, contractors, project team members, and external consultants.
• Prepare tender packages, contract documents, and other project administration materials.
• Work collaboratively with the Principal Engineer while managing assigned projects and responsibilities independently.

About The Opportunity

An established structural engineering consulting firm is looking to add a Structural Engineer, P.Eng. to its team in Oxford County. The firm provides structural engineering and design solutions across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This opportunity is well suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys a hands-on role spanning structural design, technical analysis, client coordination, and construction-phase support. Working closely with the Principal Engineer and project team, you will contribute to projects from initial concept through design, tender, and construction.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited Canadian university or equivalent.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code
• Experience applying structural design codes for steel, wood, masonry, and concrete.
• Proficiency with CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP, or S-FRAME is considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of structural design principles, building systems, architectural standards, and construction practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Valid Ontario driver's licence and access to a personal vehicle for site visits.
