Job summary

Calross Consulting seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead a new Ontario/Quebec office. You will develop client relationships, oversee design and execution of bridges, marine structures, and heavy civil projects, and mentor junior staff.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in structural engineering, is P.Eng eligible, and has strong experience with S-Frame, Midas, and AutoCAD. A Civil/Structural Engineering degree is required; a Master’s is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of structural engineering experience.
  • Proven client relationship development and business development skills.
  • P.Eng or eligible for registration with PEO or OIQ.
  • Strong technical background in structural engineering and project leadership.
  • Familiarity with S-Frame, Midas, and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Develop client relationships and lead business development initiatives.
  • Lead planning, design, and execution of projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance on bridge design, marine structures, and other construction engineering projects.
  • Conduct preliminary design analysis and selection for various structures including bridges, marine structures, and retaining walls.
  • Engage in construction and erection engineering for heavy civil projects.
  • Prepare and review designs, drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Write and review technical reports and proposals.
  • Conduct site visits, attend project meetings, and support marketing efforts.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering their professional development.

Our client is a rapidly growing, independently owned heavy civil and transportation infrastructure engineering design firm with offices in Ontario and the Maritimes. Renowned for their involvement in technically challenging and high-profile projects, they are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead and develop a new office in Ontario or Quebec.

Responsibilities:

Develop client relationships and lead business development initiatives.

Lead planning, design, and execution of projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client requirements.

Provide expert guidance on bridge design, marine structures, and other construction engineering projects.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master’s Degree would be considered an asset.
