Mott MacDonald has an immediate need for a Structural Designer to support and deliver a variety of energy and oil & gas projects across North America.

As a Structural Designer, your roles and responsibilities include:

1. Create 3D structural models using AutoCAD; experience with CADWorx PlantStructure 2020 is required.
2. Prepare 2D packages from the design models.
3. Develop General Arrangement and detailed drawings for concrete and steel structures, including plant buildings, pipe racks, platforms, and tank farms.
4. Collaborate with other disciplines and the project engineering team for structural design requirements.
5. Create drawings with minimal supervision.
6. Develop technical drawings from sketches, determining appropriate scales, arrangements, and specific details based on engineering concepts.
7. Follow policies and procedures in the preparation of drawings.
8. Manage project stages within timeframes and budgets.
9. Perform other related duties contributing to the projects.

Candidate Specifications:

• Ideal candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience related to drafting and/or design modeling of oil and gas structures (pipe racks, modular buildings, platforms, tank farms).
• Hold an associate degree or higher in automated drawing, civil/structural engineering technology, or a related field, or be working towards obtaining a degree.
• Experience in construction is an asset.
• Good communication skills (oral and written) in English.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD 3D, CADWorx, Civil 3D, Navisworks, MS Office.
• Ability to meet cost objectives, quality standards, and deadlines.
• Strong time management skills and adaptability to change.
