Structural Designer (Canada Remote)

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

POWER Engineers is currently seeking a full-time Structural Designer to work in the Power Delivery PECan transmission line group with our Toronto, Canada office. The successful candidate will report to the Department Manager. This is a remote opportunity; please specify your preferred working location.

Responsibilities

1. Lead and assist with lattice steel structure drafting, design, and detailing.
2. Learn, understand, and implement CAD knowledge; learn client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure work conforms to the client's standards and expectations; follow POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborate on design issues.
3. Promote company culture and manage internal and external relationships.
4. Facilitate staff development with intentional assignments to prepare future leaders.
5. Collaborate with the TDS and structural teams.

Required Education/Experience

1. Associates degree in drafting or equivalent technical degree.
2. Minimum of 10 years’ professional experience in the industry.
3. Minimum 8+ years’ experience in steel detailing.
4. Significant experience in drafting with AutoCAD.

Desired Education/Experience

1. Experience drafting with Bocad or Tekla in an engineering environment.
2. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
3. Experience with Bentley ProjectWise.
4. Experience working with scaled drawings.
