Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced engineer to own the lifecycle of spacecraft structural hardware for New Glenn. You will design, analyze, test, and qualify primary and secondary structures, working with metallic and composite materials within a safety‑driven, collaborative culture.

You will build models, perform hand calculations and FEA, and partner with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure safe, reliable spaceflight.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in engineering; 3+ years in aircraft/spacecraft/launch-vehicle structures.
  • Experience with materials selection, compatibility, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience in multi-functional teams to develop designs and produce engineered products.
  • Strong understanding of composite and metallic design fundamentals.
  • Experience with bolted joint design and analysis.
  • Familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Experience with CAD/FEA tools (Creo/Windchill, ANSYS).

Responsibilities

  • Own full lifecycle of hardware from requirements through integration on a launch vehicle.
  • Design, analyze, develop, and test metallic and composite structures.
  • Conduct research, build concepts, and run trade studies.
  • Create 3D models, drawings, assemblies, and interface control documents.
  • Develop test plans and support manufacturing, production, and integration.
