Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Training Engineer to design, develop, and execute comprehensive mission-support training for ops controllers, engineers, and payload customers across In-Space System programs. You will lead focused training areas, collaborate across multiple teams, and manage simulators and rehearsal events to ensure mission success.

The role requires strong facilitation, documentation, and the ability to travel for training activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S in engineering, education, or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience designing and executing training for mission support operators and engineers in space, military, or government environments.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills to lead technical training and debriefs.
  • Experience writing training course materials (objectives, plans, evaluation criteria, hands-on activities).
  • Ability to travel to support training activities as needed (typically <10 per year).
  • Ability to support varied workday hours; on-call support may be required.
  • Self-starter with coordination skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work.
  • Proven ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and build relationships across groups.
  • Commitment to inclusion and trust-building.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residence or equivalent status.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute training for ops controllers, engineering support, AI&T, launch services operators, and payload customers across In-Space System vehicles.
  • Lead specific training areas or initiatives and coordinate with senior staff.
  • Collaborate with engineers, ground software, flight controllers, and payload customers to ensure relevant training.
  • Run simulators and training assets for hands-on practice and rehearsals.
  • Define requirements and support future training simulators and assets.
  • Evaluate operator proficiency and develop ad hoc training as needed.
  • Maintain records of operator training completion.
